Statement of Confidentiality

According to the Psychologists' code of ethical practice, the practitioner ensures that each individual client will be treated with responsibility and respect and that confidentiality of clinical material will be maintained at all times. Confidentiality will only be jeopardized in exceptional circumstances. Such circumstances are rare and involve the psychotherapist's anxiety that the client is at considerable risk for himself or for others. In any such case, the psychotherapist will primarily discuss with the client about his concerns and about the necessity for someone external – to the therapy - to be informed (the client's family / the police/ psychiatric services or any other appropriate social service).
